Kosovo Independence

It is the very first time that Albanian people have celebrated Kosovo's Independence in Manchester, making this a very special day for us. A lot of parents and children joined us in the celebration. Kosovo has remained independent since 17th February 2008.

We have celebrated Kosovo's Independence for the first time here at our '28 Nëntori' Albanian school in Manchester. The event included reading poems, singing patriotic songs, and dancing to traditional music. Among the attendees were the Lord Mayor of Manchester, Paul Andrew, the Deputy of Kosovo, Vlorat Gashi, and diplomat Ilir Bytyqi.
